Congratulations. I imagine you are feeling happy…
Without doubt. It has been a special day and I am the happiest
person in the world today as well as every day that I am a Real Madrid
player.
-
You have said on more than one occasion that returning to
Real Madrid was a dream come true. Does renewing your contract mean
extending that dream?
Of course, I am staying here for longer, my dream remains
intact and I have the same enthusiasm. I hope to pay back the affection
shown by fans when I train and play in matches as I have done up until
now.
-
Did you imagine something similar when you were a child and you began to play in Sao Paulo?
I want to make the most of this dream by working hard every
day. I am definitely going to fight to return the affection that people
are showing me. I want to triumph at Real Madrid.
-
What memories do you have of the season you spent with Real Madrid Castilla and what did you learn?
I learned a lot, also by working with Mourinho and with
Ancelotti. Now with Benítez, I am sure that it will be an incredible
year and I am going to continue working to play more and more. I am very
happy.
-
What did it mean, being barely 21 years old, to be sharing a changing room with Ramos, Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Bale…?
Being in the Real Madrid dressing room is an incredible
feeling. I try to make the most of it every day that I leave my house in
the morning by working very hard and making a real effort. I have not
changed at all and nothing will change. I will continue motivated to
work and enthusiastic about playing for Real Madrid.
-
You made your debut against Betis at the Santiago Bernabéu two seasons ago. What was that moment like?
I will never forget it. The excitement was incredible. It is an
immense feeling to get up every day and realise that you are a Real
Madrid player. All I can do is thank everyone.
-
During that 2013/14 season you won titles and played in important games.
It was my first season in the first team and it was great
because I played in important games. Thanks to God we won La Décima and
the Copa del Rey.
-
What memories do you have of La Décima?
It was incredible, but now I am just thinking about working and winning more European Cups with this team.
-
You also had a very important performance against Dortmund in the return leg of the quarter-final.
I knew that my time had come, whether it was a full game, a
half, or 20 minutes, and I was focused. Things turned out really well.
Now I still have that same excitement and motivation to triumph with
Real Madrid.

In what way was last season at Porto useful for you?It was a very important decision, for me and my family. Porto helped me a lot and now I return as a man and with more experience.
