Welling striker Sahr Kabba has become the first player to be charged under a new law intended to stamp out feigning injury.
Tranmere's Ritchie Sutton was shown a red card for appearing
to strike Kabba during the 1-1 draw in their National League match on
Saturday September 5.
However, Tranmere manager Gary Brabin was
adamant that Sutton had made no contact with Kabba and launched a
successful appeal which has in turn led to an FA charge for the Welling
player.
Under the rule introduced this season, a player who feigns injury and gets an opponent sent off could face a suspension.
Kabba
faces a three-game ban if found guilty of the charge while Sutton is
free to play for Tranmere against Chester this weekend.
