Norwich manager Alex Neil hopes to prove himself as a manager in England, where he feels he failed as a player.
The 34-year-old Scot played for Barnsley between 2000 and
2004 before a season at Mansfield and feels he underachieved during his
playing career.
Having earned his managerial stripes at Hamilton,
Neil led Norwich back to the top flight and despite four points from
their opening three Premier League games this season, believes the
Canaries are capable of climbing higher.
Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the Super Sunday
clash with Southampton, Neil said of his previous stay in England: "I
was young and naive and didn't do as well as I shouldn't done. I don't
think I was good enough to play in the Premier League and should have
done better, so I certainly felt I had unfinished business in the
league.
"I have something to prove to myself. I don't really
concern myself with what other people think but I want to face
challenges head on and do as well as I can."
